On Saturday, September 28, 2024, the Prairie View A&M Panthers and the Grambling State Tigers clashed once again at the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas, continuing their fierce rivalry that has been part of the State Fair of Texas since the 1980s. This thrilling game kept fans on the edge of their seats, going into overtime not once not twice, or three times, but five before a winner was crowned. The game opened with a Grambling touchdown just 14 seconds into the second quarter, giving them an early 7-0 lead. Prairie View answered back with a touchdown of their own, tying the score 7-7 with 8:46 left in the second quarter. Grambling struck again, taking a 14-7 lead with only four seconds left before halftime. By the third quarter, Grambling extended their lead to 17-10, but Prairie View tied it again early in the fourth at 17-17. In a dramatic finish, Prairie View scored with 38 seconds left, sending the game into overtime at 24-24.
